Asbury CDC Attends Ribbon Cutting for MSU’s Charles Stewart Mott Department of Public Health August 26, 2025

On Tuesday, August 26th, members of the Asbury Community Development Corporation team proudly joined community leaders, elected officials, educators, and healthcare advocates at the official ribbon cutting for the Charles Stewart Mott Department of Public Health at Michigan State University in Flint.

This historic event marks a major milestone for public health in our community. The new department will serve as a hub for research, education, and collaboration focused on addressing the unique health challenges facing residents of Flint and Genesee County. Rooted in a commitment to equity and community-driven solutions, the department will expand access to resources that directly improve the well-being of local families.

For Asbury CDC, the mission of the Mott Department of Public Health aligns closely with our own efforts to strengthen health, nutrition, and opportunity in Flint neighborhoods. From our urban farming programs to the Help Center and community kitchen, Asbury is deeply invested in creating healthier futures. Attending the ribbon cutting underscored the importance of partnerships between local organizations, universities, and residents in building lasting change.
